MORGAN CEMETERY

Chili, New York

This cemetery is located on the west side of Scottsville

Road about one mile north of the village of Scottsville.

There is a New York Historical marker that says "Joseph

Morgan, Revolutionary War Capt., first settler in Chili in

1792, supplied seed grain to whole region and set out one of

the first orchards. (1959)"

MORGAN Joseph; Capt., Lee's Co., 4th Conn.; 1770 -

1781, War of the Revolution; [Note: this is a

new stone erected by the S.A.R.]; d Feb. 6,

1829 @ 75y

Sylvia E., wife of Bradford; d Oct. 19, 1837 @

37y; "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord"

NASH Annette, wife of Jared; [no visible dates]

Jared; d Feb. 14, 1831 in the 39th year of his

age; "Withdraw my friends, dry up your tears,

here I must lie til Christ appears."

PAGE Capt. PAGE is said to be buried here, but there

is no stone for him.

PLUMER Francis B.; d Nov. 27, 1815 in the 31st year of

his age; "The sweet rememberance of the just

shall flourish though they sleep in dust"

George, son of Francis B.; d Sept. 21, 1813 in

the 3rd year of his age
