I've spent the majority of my work life in publishing and advertising, primarily as a graphic designer and production artist.

After a stint working in a shoe repair shop, I've added awl & thread to my pen & paper, mouse & keyboard toolbox.

I use oak-tanned leather from a tannery in Saint Louis, Missouri using hides from U.S. cattle. Bark tanning (also referred to as veg tanning) is an older, slower, less-polluting process than chrome tanning, the process usually used today.

I condition the leather with MooBuzz leather paste, a mixture of pure neatsfoot oil and beeswax by Eastside Shoe Repair in Madison, Wisconsin.
