I had a rear-ender acident in May 2003. The sheet metal damage was repaired by a specialist but I was driving for a while with a torn canvas boot cover. Finally I decided to replace this hard-to-open piece of canvas with a folding aluminum cover.

 

At the same time I replaced the standard roll bar for safety reasons with a taller device. This was used and to make it look nice again, I got it chrome plated.
