I had read discussions and seen a picture of a sun roof for the Birkin in the style of a Bimini-Top for boats. It
was soon nicknamed "Birkini" but did not become commercially available. I set out to make my own and tried to design it to
open and close from the driver seat, avoiding the typical contortions exiting a Seven with the hood up. This was accomplished
using a spring loaded roll-up rod as middle support for the roof.
