I was fascinated by Lotus Sevens since High School (well, sometimes early 70s....). I could not afford one back then
and forgot about it later. End of 2002 I remembered, found the money and began shopping. I decided for a Birkin
S3 because of the good workmanship and finish. From all the Sevens on the market it is probably the closest match
to an original Series 3 Lotus. My car was 5 years old but almost unused at 600 miles.
It is 2.0 liter Ford Zetec powered with 45mm Jenvey throttle body injection, Kentcam FZ2002 cams and Emerald ECU. Crank
power should be approx. 180 bhp, maybe a little more. Wet sump and water rail are Raceline. The gearbox is a semi-close ratio
T9, lightened steel flywheel and Quaiffe LSD. Wheels are stock 15" for road use and RealWheel 13" rims with Avon ACB10 tires
for the track.
I drive the car just for fun (there is actually not much more it can be used for....). That means road trips, occasional
track days, maybe Autocross sometimes. Another big part of the fun for me is working on the car with upgrades, modifications
and, well, fixing it.
Here is Slomove!
