Picnics
One of the continuing programs Source Force offers is our monthly “picnic”, an event which has been ongoing for
over 10 years. Originally held outside in the back yard of one of the volunteers, we currently hold our events at the
Unitarian Universalist fellowship in Raleigh.
Picnics are a chance for some of our clients (up to 100 each month) to get together and enjoy a hot meal and enjoy some
entertainment from local musicians, performance groups, and speakers. At these events, we also provide free clothing and
groceries to each client, as well as household items that are given away as prizes from Bingo, a game where everyone has
fun and everyone also wins (we play until everybody has gotten a prize).
Our picnics offer the clients a chance to get out and socialize, something that many rarely, if ever, get to do during the
rest of the month. Click here to see a slideshow from one of our most recent events.
If you are interested in assisting with our monthly picnics through a donation, via monetary gift, in-kind gift, or
volunteering of your time, please contact us for more information.
