What is Source Force?
Source Force is a grassroots effort that began 20 years ago because one woman saw a distinct need in the AIDS community and
knew she could make a difference by connecting with individuals, recognizing their needs and celebrating their lives.
That same spirit drives the organization today with a small and completely volunteer team, which serves close to 1,000
people annually living in the Triangle, North Carolina region. Our clients live at or below the poverty line with HIV/AIDS
and/or cancer (often a result of having the AIDS virus); many are homeless and without family support.
Simply put, Source Force gives the gift of compassion, with no strings attached. We remind them that life is not only
about aches, and worries and fears, but about caring, sharing, and joy.
What does Source Force do?
Source Force sponsors two events on an ongoing basis: picnics and “Easter baskets”.
Our monthly picnics provide a day out to our clients, consisting of a hot meal, take-home groceries and entertainment.

Our annual “Easter basket” project involves creating approximately 1,000 gift bags for clients, containing needed items
like food, towels, and toiletries. Click here for more information and to see pictures of this year’s event.
In addition to picnics and the Easter Basket project, Source Force also provides aid through visits and shopping trips
with homebound clients and outreach with the various organizations serving the HIV/AIDS community.
Do you only help people with HIV/AIDS?
While we concentrate our efforts on those living with HIV and AIDs, Source Force does not turn away those in need. Over the years, we have assisted people living in poverty who suffer from diseases like cancer.
What areas do you serve?
Source Force assists clients living in the Triangle, North Carolina region. The counties we serve are Durham, Johnston,
Orange, and Wake.
Who are your clients?
Our clients live at or below the poverty level in the Triangle, North Carolina region. Many are members or local
HIV/AIDS support groups and homes. However, anyone living in the area with these afflictions is welcome and no one
is turned away based on age, race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
How are you funded?
Source Force is a private, non-profit organization, adhering to all 501(3)(c) requirements. We receive no funding
from the government or government-sponsored groups and rely on direct contributions from donors. We are an all-volunteer
organization with no paid employees, so 100% of donations are used to help serve our clients.
How can I help?
You can help Source Force through two methods: volunteering and donations.
As an all-volunteer organization, we rely on a steady stream of volunteers to help out with collecting items, fundraising,
and assisting with event coordination. Click here for more information on how you can offer your time.
Source Force receives no money from the government, so we rely on gifts from individuals and companies to provide funding.

In addition to monetary gifts, Source Force also relies on in-kind donations. For example, at our monthly picnics, we provide groceries, clothing,
and other household items to our clients – many of which are donated. Click here for more information on what items we
are looking for and how you can donate.
