Easter Baskets

Each spring, a dedicated group of volunteers spend a Saturday creating giant, bushel-basket sized “Easter baskets” for approximately 1,000 clients. These baskets contain both fun and practical items for the many men, women, and children that we serve. Items regularly included in baskets include the following:

· Deodorant
· Food items – Drinks/Canned Goods/Snacks/Candy
· Lotion
· Razors/Shaving cream
· Shampoo
· Soap
· Socks
· Toilet tissue
· Toothbrushes/Toothpaste
· Towels/Washcloths

Since many of our clients lack the resources to buy even the basic necessities, they rely on our annual gift of these items to help them get through the often tough year ahead.

Our hard-working volunteers spend weeks before the event raising funds and soliciting donations for the baskets, and using our limited funds to purchase that which we cannot get donated. These volunteers also spend an entire Saturday creating and distributing these baskets to our clients all over the Triangle area. Click here to see a slideshow of this year’s event.
