About the Journal Club

Our Journal Club is an informal association of people who have taken classes in Bioinformatics together under the UCSC Extension. We have experienced the advantages of studying the journal literature as well as textbooks (being closer to the "real world" in which bioinformatics is practised). Having grown to know each other to an extent through several classes, we hope to continue the association for mutual benefit.

The Bay Area Bioinformatics Discussion Group is a group with similar aims to ours. They meet in Munzer Auditorium on Stanford University campus.
