Biography
Linda Dever is an experienced teacher of Art, World Culture and English. She has a BS in Art
Education from Penn State University, and a MA in Educational
Technology from San Francisco State plus a certificate for English as a
Second Language (ESL) from San Francisco State.
She taught Art and 1st grade
in New York City and New Jersey for 5 years before relocating to San
Francisco.
Linda was a Reading Coordinator for 2 elementary schools on Treasure
Island where she was implementing a new reading program with six
paraprofessionals. Next she became a substitute teacher for SFUSD
and finally in 1978 began as an Art Instructor for City College of San
Francisco. After a year she added more hours as an instructor for
disabled adults in Art, Language Arts and General Education. She worked for
DSPS until January of 2000 and has continued part-time with the Older
Adults program of CCSF where she began teaching Art, World Cultures, Art History, Crafts
and Health and Exercise.
In the summers she has taught children frequently in Art, Media and
Reading. Recently for the past 5 years, she has mentored, tutored
and heads a summer Art program in South San Francisco producing art
exhibits in the school district office.
In addition to teaching, Linda is an exhibiting artist and member of
the Pacifica Art Guild and ArtWork of San Francisco she has frequent
shows at the Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica and in San Francisco at
such locations as Bayshore Production Studios, Green St. Digital Arts
and solo shows at Caffe Bianco, Martha & Brothers Coffee, and
the Art Center in San Bruno. She has won awards from the San
Mateo County Fair for her original designs. Linda continues her
Art and has begun writing, promotion for other artists and assist other
writers with their projects.
She is available as a private Art or Reading tutor and runs small Art
