We went through a bit of unfortunate luck as drummer after drummer sort of copped out. One couldn't hang with the beat
of "Ever After," another couldn't figure out what to do for "Wishing Well," still another went nuts with the double kick and
made everything sound like it was being done by the Average White Band, or Toto...one guy even came out all the way from Detroit
just to find he had to return there straightaway! We found Alejandra Arellano and she's technically a good fit. Not only did
she crack the various nuts other drummers faltered at, she also has already begun to get the next CDs worth of songs under
her belt!
Better than that, we're able to work through Tinderbox Music and get our CD onto at least 82 college stations....all
of which have been blazed across our MySpace page, and here as, a courtesy and a "thank you." It'd be great to be able to
play where we're wanted, but alas, money is an issue...not to mention, our drummer does just that for a living. Unless I could
guarantee some srt of pay or compensation, she can't travel. That sucks.
We're technically on base to take part in next years International Pop Overthrow Festival here in Los Angeles/Hollywood/Silverlake.
It'd be sweet to travel (just Kim and I, I guess) and do some sort of acoustic tour of some of the places where we're wanted
during the Summer!
Come January, I'm supposed to be talking with someone from Big Noise. Perhaps that will lead to some sort of promotional
budget we can use to...well...PLAY!
Til then, we're probably limited to our backyard....Southern California.
