| I first saw Noir mentioned in a "What's popular in Japan right now" column. All I knew was the title, but that was enough to sound interesting. Then at a convention in 2001 I saw it on the schedule for one of the video rooms. It was untranslated, and my Japanese doesn't go much farther than arigato, gomen, and sayonara but I watched it anyway and was hooked. It had great music, great action, a story with a lot of potential, and of course great-looking characters. So then I started looking for cels. At that time, apparently it was still pretty popular in Japan, that was where most of the competition was coming from and the prices were going pretty high. But I still managed to claim my spot on the bandwagon. This is a show I'm really looking to expand on in terms of my collection. If you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend it (although I'm afraid if it gets too popular the cel prices will start going up again). | |||
