Wish ListI don't know if this ever works, but just in case, here it is. This is more or less in order of desirability. If you have one of these that you're interested in selling or trading, I hope you'll let me know at skorp@earthlink.net. Maybe if I'm actively looking for something, and I have money set aside for it, I'll highlight it with a different color or something. By the way, if you're emailing me about cels, I suggest you mention cels in the subject, otherwise the message will get deleted along with the multitudes of spam I get daily. |

Sales or TradesI'm not here to be a cel dealer. When I buy cels I expect to keep them. So if you want to buy or trade for one of my cels, it's up to you to make an offer, I'm not going to make any effort to make a sale. I still have every cel I've ever bought, so don't get your hopes up. However, as my collection grows there will probably be some that I lose interest in, and thus would consider selling. If you do make a reasonable offer, I'll try to at least read it and respond.Scan InfoFor all of the cels without backgrounds, I edited the images to make the backgrounds a single color, erasing cel bag wrinkles, stray paint drops, sequence numbers, etc. However I did not touch up any of the painted area of any cel. I used gray backgrounds to hopefully makes the whites stand out better. For the large scans, I tried to crop the images as little as possible, within the limits of my scanner. The thumbnails, on the other hand, have all been cropped. In some cases it's just to make them a uniform size, but on cels where the image didn't cover much of the cel, I cropped them to zoom in on the image. I'm kind of wishing I hadn't done that now, but I don't feel like redoing a bunch of thumbnails. If you see a thumbnail that looks like it should be a nice cel, but it doesn't link to a large image, you should assume the thumbnail is cropped. On the other hand, if you want to see the large scan, let me know and I may go ahead and put it up. In some cases I didn't add large scans because I didn't have anything clever to say about the cel, or was just feeling lazy. So feel free to send requests for larger scans. Use of ScansAs far as other people using my scans, for the most part it won't bother me (or I don't think it will bother me, since it hasn't happened yet as far as I know). If people want to make image galleries, icons, stuff like that, that's fine. But I will start to care if someone uses my scans for bootleg merchandise. Whether it's a blatant fraud where someone tries to auction my cel, or whether they just use the image to advertise some other product, I will be pissed off. It's not that I'm claiming any ownership or copyright on the image, it's that I don't want my name to be associated with any bootlegging type of activity. I don't want anybody to wonder if I was involved in it because they saw my scan being used. So please don't do anything like that, and if I find out that it is being done, I'll take whatever steps I can to stop it.Fan cels are kind of a gray area. I think most fan artists mean well, but some don't always consider what could happen once the cel is out of their control. Again, I don't want my name or my cels associated with anything being called a forgery or a fake. So if someone wants to make a fan cel based on something in my collection, I would appreciate it if they would send me an email to let me know, and take appropriate measures to ensure that nobody will ever mistake their fan cel for a production cel. Dealer RecommendationsIf you want to know what dealers are out there, you should probably look at Cels.org. Odds are you wouldn't have found my site without going to cels.org somewhere along the line, but I'm pointing it out just in case. The Keep Track page lists the biggest dealers and shows which have updated recently (I remember the days before Keep Track. It was a lot more work having to check all those sites over and over again to see if they had updated. But on the other hand, when you nailed an update, you had less competition). It also has lists of other dealers, galleries, and anything else you can think of related to cels. As for my own opinions, I don't really want to get into a detailed comparison of any dealer's good and bad points. I have to say that I haven't had a really bad experience with any dealer. So I'm just going to list the dealers that I've purchased from, and if you want to ask me about specifics for any of them, email me. Here's the list: |
