This is by far the most improbable cel in my collection. I don't remember exactly when I noticed this character from a cel collecting perspective, but at some point I decided that I liked the character design and it would be cool to get a cel of her. The problem was that she appeared on screen for no more than fifteen seconds in episode 1, probably less than twenty-five frames of animation. So I was pretty sure I would never see a cel like this. But then in the last week of December, 1999, a new dealer opened a website, and I was shocked to find this cel for sale. I work for a computer company, so I wasn't too paranoid about Y2K bugs, but that combined with the fact that it was a new dealer that no other collectors could vouch for made the whole thing seem pretty risky. But I decided I had to take the chance, and it turned out that the dealer was a very nice and honest guy, so this was my first cel for the year 2000. Then to top it all off, about a year later another very nice collector came across a nearly-matching sketch for this cel, only one frame away, and offered to sell it to me. So I think whatever good cel karma I have is embodied in this cel.
