We welcomed the addition of our son Luke Jameson Jones on Sunday, January 14th at 6:11pm. He weighed 7 lbs and was 20 inches long.
Unfortunately, he had to be taken by emergency C Section due to him going into distress and then
once they opened me they discovered that my placenta has abrupted (completely detached).
Luke spent the first 4 days of his life in the neo intensive care to make sure everything was okay. He spent the 1st & part of the 2nd day in a controlled environment so they could
make sure he could keep his own internal body temperature consistent. They then
did lots of tests on him and once I was able to breast feed him they removed the IV.
Poor guy had so many pokes and bruises from all the monitors but now at 11 days old they are faint. He was released to me in my room last Thursday at 11am so we were able to be discharged on the same day. He passed the hearing test with flying colors and had his first shot for Hep B.
Brian was able to take off this week with me to help out and bond with his son. Sue and Marcia as well as Brian's mom have been such a help coming over often to help with Luke and the
laundry, etc. We don't know what we would do without them and the rest of the
family.
