2. Share with God your desire to know God and converse with God. Example: Lord, I am weak and inconsistent,
but I desire to learn directly from your word, follow your way, and converse with you often each day.
3. Listen for God. As one lives by every word that comes
from the mouth of God and not by bread alone [Dt 8:3; Mt 4:4], listen for God to speak. [The

5. Hear God
speak to you about who God truly is. Read Process A (p. 3).
6. Share your
delight in God’s awesome character, as on p. 6.
7. Humbly listen
to God speak truth about you. Go to p. 6.
8. Speak with
God in appreciation and thanksgiving, as on p. 6-7.
9. Ask the
Spirit for faith, wisdom, courage, self-control, as on p. 7.

Realistic Expectations Regarding These Spiritual Exercises:
1) The inner beauty and pure goodness of God becomes the central focus in your life, slowly healing your unregulated
emotions.

Jesus’ exhortation, “Be boundless in goodness as your heavenly Father’s goodness is boundless,” becomes
the benchmark to set your life’s goals, measure your achievements, and judge your faithfulness to Christ. [Mt 5:48]
(3) Your belief in your absolute worth, undeniable dignity, and inner beauty as God’s child, redeemed
in Christ, will grow and thankfulness will soar as will your awareness that you were created for conversations with God.

Your mind will become ever more like Christ’s. You will perceive God’s
LOVE for others. Consequently, with and by the Holy Spirit, you will grow evermore
