Mournful ruined fruit trapped in Scorpion venom.

""Tessera" describes the individual pieces of glass, marble or tile used in a mosaic. Tessera varietal table wines are similarly named, as the component grapes are carefully selected from the finest vineyards throughout California. As in a mosaic, each vineyard is selected for its ability to complement the finished piece. When blended together, they produce exceptionally smooth and flavorful wines.

When I tasted this wine I felt like the rube in a county fare who had just been conned out of $13.00. I believe there is a trend among winemakers in California to slap a fancy label on a bottle, fill it with acrid grape juice, and sell it for a premium price.

This wine is flat with a dull character and sour licorice and diesel fuel flavors. Some Cabernet flavors arise, like ghosts of long lost grapes crying out from a turgid, crawdad infested ditch.
