Wonderully balanced dry wine.

On the label:
"BV was founded in 1900 by French entrepreneur Georges de Latour in Rutherford, in the heart of Napa Valley. He created a tradition of quality and excellence which we are proud to uphold today, nearly a century later."

"This fine Cabernet is blended from superiour vineyards throughout the Napa Valley, which have been sources for great BV Cabernet over the decades. This provides the wine with complex, robust flavors of cherry and black olive, as well as a subtle spice character. Serve with beef, lamb, and hearty cheeses."
I tried this with non-hearty cheeses and it was lacking a certain I Don't Know What.

A smoky-dry wine with excellent balance, body, and charisma. I drank this while dining on Capallini Pomodori at Frankie, Jhonnie, & Luigi, Too!

The wine was a gift from Milton Janetos - a regular contributor to the Gadfly section of this homepage. Milton prefers his Cabernet on the dry side - like smoke drifting over an English countryside.

I prefer a sweeter, fruiter (in the manly sense of sweetness) brand else would have rated this particular wine higher. It is classy stuff.
