I am not made for zen-like stillness, simple-minded acceptance without question. I actually get a little nervous when things feel conventional and safe, or when things threaten to be unoriginal. I've tried quitting the whole creative life. I've tried quitting the romantic life. I've even tried quitting people altogether.

Sometimes people see me clearer than I see myself, and I get pulled back to my center, which is somewhere off your map.
