ART
I'm
not really an artist. I mean, I never studied. In grade school, I couldn't
create anything worth putting on the fridge. I do love art, even though
I have a totally untrained eye. I have friends who are good at it and
have been trained - so I keep my opinions to myself, for the most part.
That's where I think I join the artist in the private pleasure of expression.
Here's some of my fun stuff. Remember, I'm not really an artist.

My
sister, who lives on oceanfront property in South Miami, often
sends me email with pictures of the latest strange animal that
has discovered her backyard. I've gotten pictures of cats, raccoons,
foxes, etc. Everything but gators. Well,
look at what I found on my front lawn!
Look at what my neighbors are up to: Liberty
- Shuttle
- and the new scourge of the skies, Hannah-Mothra! |

My
friend Lance has an impressive resume, and nowhere in it do we
see that he worked on "Streetcar Named Desire" with
Brando and Malden. I asked him why he didn't work on the movie,
and he gave me some story that he wasn't even born at the time
- he was born in the late sixties. Never
one to be discouraged, I put him in the poker scene next to Brando.
It's still not on his acting resume.
Here's an early pic of my friend Michelle in Young Frankenstein:

For
the first four or five years I worked on the film festival, I
had the task of creating the official logo, and this was the last
one I did. I originally drew this on my Handspring, and then sat
down at my computer to do a more detailed version. The mask symbolizes
the school and theater, and the film is both behind and in front
of it, which perfectly shows how an acting school can put together
a film festival.
Here are some logos I created for previous festivals: 2001
- 2000 |

This
is an example of a logo creation for a one-act collection, called
"Truth and Justice". Doesn't it just say "Truth
and Justice" without the aid of words?
Here
are some simple logos for two more shows: Laundry
and Bourbon, Next
