There is no easy way to describe and distinguish the many types of hairs found on plants. Though morphologically important, whether they are unicellular or multicellular is beyond the province of a guide of this nature. The following chart is intended only to make it easier, taxonomically, to come as close as possible to a descriptive term, or several of them, that might apply to the plant being studied.
