Make Art. Make a Difference.

"See, A River" depicts a restored and vital Los Angeles watershed. It's one of 20+ succesful projects by the Silver Lakers to make art that makes a difference.

UPDATE... Jan 2008:
City of Los Angeles announces partnership with Silver Lakers to create more public art in 2008.

Projects to include murals at Clifford Elementary in Echo Park, Liggett Elementary in Panorama City and Charles H. Kim in Koreatown.

Silver Lakers artists and volunteers to work with residents and students creating original public art installations.

The Los Angeles fire department comes to the aid of the Silver Lakers and student artists!

Thanks to the captain and his fire fighters!

The Silver Lakers announced the completion of their latest public art work, "See, a river at Glassell Park Elementary". Joining "See, a river at Aragon Elementary", it puts art in the service of education.

Teachers are using these art works to help students understand the important part they can play in the health of the Los Angeles river and the environment.
