Front man, Clint
Yeager, (pictured to the immediate left on guitar) describes his current project,
Superfiends as a "super animated, hi-fi porno." Par for the course
for Yeager, who has scored rock songs for pornos and last year auditioned for the
lead guitar spot in Marilyn Manson (click here for the article about
his audition with Manson). |
| Clint, a Silver Lake
res, has been involved in the Hollywood rock scene for the last ten years andhas played for bands such as Kommunity FK,
Drance, and Daisy Face. Daisy Face, a popular local band that was known for it's naughty lyrics and stage antics, flirted with Virgin Atlantic and was eventually offered a demo deal. The band declined the offer. "We figured that if a company like Virgin was willing to offer us a demo deal, then some other major would be willing to offer us a real deal." It never happened. "In retrospect it was a case of big egos and ridiculous thinking," says Yeager now. The band eventually disintegrated and Yeager met up with Byron Brown, whose band, The New Ambassadors of Love, had also just recently broken up. |

Although Yeager decided to downplay the antics common to Daisy Face and
focus more on the music, Superfiends , like Daisy Face is still a very visually
oriented band. He feels that a rock show should be like a roller coaster ride for
the audience: "where you're holding on for dear life until the ride's over."
|
| Yeager's musical influences include a rash of 70s acts such as Kiss, Ted
Nugent, Alice Cooper, and 80s speed metal bands such as Slayer, Venom, and Merciful
Fate. "And a lot of other bands I'm afraid to tell you about," offers
Yeager. "Byron brings a more death rock-metal hybrid to the equation. He
digs bands like Type O Negative and Sisters of Mercy." |
