Old Green Cat:
The oldest remaining piece in my collection. He was sculpted from original white Sculpey sometime around 1992, I think, but didn't get his paint job until about 2002. He's also one of my biggest pieces and a permanent part of my own collection as the original Sculpey proved inadequate to survive the rigors of traveling to shows--it was just too soft and easily gouged or broken.
Black Unicorn:
Another member of my personal collection, the black unicorn (modeled in body style on my then-25-year-old Morgan mare, Cabbie) was offered for sale at science fiction conventions for about three seasons. When no one bought him, I decided he must want to stay home! He's made of Sculpey III, which is pre-colored, and accented with acrylic paint, goldstone bead eyes, and a quartz crystal horn. I would really love to find out where to get more crystals like that!
The Tiger's Eye:
Another piece that landed up in my private collection because he was out for sale for quite a while and no one bought him. I love the gleam of, yes, tigers-eye in his wary, half-open eye, and the contrast between stripes and base color. That base color is not paint! Before the tendons in my hands got so cranky, I used to mix "anthracite" colored Fimo in with my black Sculpey III, a trick I can no longer do as my hands will not tolerate the stiffness of Fimo.
Arabian Mare & Foal:
This pair, of which this is the only photo, sold last August to be shipped to Texas as a gift.
Blue-Green-White Panther:
This is what I used to do with the scraps when I was using a lot of Sculpey III--I would always have just this or that little bit left over. This guy was my last remaining "swirly panther" and was donated to a charity auction last summer to benefit a critically ill local child.
Friesian Stallion:
This guy sold last August to be shipped to the owner of a therapeutic riding program that features Friesians.
Frisky:
Another piece that sold last August...the girl wanted it SO badly but was going to have to come back the next day for it, and not half an hour later there she was back again, bouncing with excitement as her sweetie paid for the piece and I packed it up to go home with them. I really love a good sale like that, with someone happy to get a piece of my work!
Launch:
Made as a companion piece to "Frisky", "Launch" sold off the front page of this site the day the site went up, and now has a home in western Oregon.
Andalusian Stallion:
The Andalusian Stallion has been sold to a friend who fell in love with his dappled paint job.
Arabian Stallion:
The Arabian Stallion will no longer be offered for sale, having been handled too roughly and broken while out on consignment. I will find him a good home and give him as a gift.
Friesian Group:
The Friesian Group was broken up into three mare-foal pairs. Two were sold to be given as gifts and the third pair were given to the counselor at Vocational Rehabilitation who is responsible for my case. They reside in her office and are said to attract much attention there.
