In August 2003, members of our group met in retreat.  There we participated in a process to generate tasks and goals important to us as individuals, from which we selected the top priorities for the coming year for the group as a whole.  We then formed into sub-groups around each of these priorities.   Each sub-committee is chaired by two co-leaders.

The Peace and Justice Singers are an affiliated group.  They formed to ensure there would be singing at peace demonstrations and rallies in Portland.  If peace and justice are about love, we affirm there is no better metaphor than group singing to express the relation.  If you would like to improve the sound of the peace movement, you belong with the P&J singers!  Contact RCA Moore at 503 223-0487.

We also have on-going tasks and concerns:

Planning for and staffing the Peace Action table
              -- Tess Beistel
Working with the UU/UN envoy for UN initiatives
              -- Janet Clemmer

We have developed a flexible task-oriented structure so that people can contribute their time and energy at variable levels, as is suitable to different life arrangements.  Whether you want to work for a few hours at voter registration, or are looking for a group as your primary spiritual/activist community, we have a place for you!
