Periodically SOS works variable stars as targets of opportunity when discovered in asteroid frames or in special projects.

New W UMa Variable Discovered July 2010

This object was picked up when chosen as a comp star for an asteroid light curve.  SOS measured it's lightcurve throughout the summer of 2010 and reported it to the AAVSO International Variable Star Index (VSX) as a previosly undiscovered W Uma variable.  Finder chart is listed below.  See http://www.aavso.org/vsx for complete data.
