A continuing thread in my work is the effort (informed by memory) to make sense of physical environment from fragmented perception.  I’m fascinated by the pull to define the define experience through perceptual elements – necessitating the continual refocusing of the ever-changing environment.  I tend to concentrate on the instant just before this focusing and definition become complete.

The paintings and works on paper aren’t individually titled.  I don’t want to encourage a precise reading that would counter the sense of conflict between psychological and real space (somewhat like peripheral vision) that I strive for.
