Hailie has a strange fascination with the sun,
seeing it as an
extension of her deceased father's love.
The role of her mother
"Janet," is played by Christine Pratt.
Hailie's mother leaves her home by heself for
weekends at a time. As a result, each goodbye
is fraught with separation anxiety on Hailie's
part.
It is one particular night, when her mother
forgets her insulin that ultimately tears
both of their worlds apart.
Hailie embarks on a search, leaving her suburban
home for the city in search
of her mother, who after being unreachable,
Hailie believes to be kidnapped.
Hailie begins to see her journey to the city
is too far to be reached by foot.
She realizes that in order to fulfill her mission,
she will have to enlist the
help...
...and throw herself at the mercy of strangers.
Some will have her best interests at heart. Some will not.
Little does Hailie know she is simply competing
against a carnival of adult
pleasures for her mother's attention.
Emily Varzelle stars as "Amber."
Hailie is left to her own young devices to
not only save the mother she believes
to be in trouble, but to also protect herself.
Sometimes alone...
...sometimes helped by unlikely allies, Hailie
must navigate the uncharted waters
of the nighttime city...
...or lose everything trying.
