Introducing our new attorney for our appeal to the California Coastal
Commission (CCC)
We
would like to introduce you to our new attorney for the appeal to the CCC -- Mark Massara.
Mark has many years
of experience with the California Coastal Commission on behalf of environmental
issues. He is the former Director of the Sierra Club's
California Coastal Campaign. He also surfs! You can learn more
about him on Wikipedia by typing in: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Massara
Mark
joins our team, working with Richard Drury, of Lozeau - Drury, whom you all met
during our Rec and Park and BOS hearings at the City.

California Coastal Commission in SF last week - tune in and enjoy!
We
were advised not to take a crowd to the California Coastal Commission until
there is a hearing on the Beach Chalet. Although we know how much you
love hanging around waiting to testify (NOT), in respect of the Commissioner's
time, we just sent a few representatives to outline the issues. We did,
however, show them the petitions that you all have worked so hard to
gather -- over 4,000 signatures over the last 3 years.
In
addition to Mark Massara, Arthur Feinstein (Sierra Club and past Golden Gate
Audubon Society) and Katherine Howard (SFOE) testified about the project
during General Public Comment on December 13th. Go to CCC
video-on-demand and watch.
"Click
here to start" and
go to Minute 12:00. CCF, RPD, the office of the mayor, etc. are
before and after the SFOE testimony.
Keep
listening and you will hear some commissioners ask the City to seriously look
again at the project and express an interest in learning about alternatives.
