Hello: I.D.E.S. Council 170 Artesia, all members & friends, including Council 152 members: Please be advised that a Regular Meeting is being held for I.D.E.S. Subordinate Council #170, on Tuesday June 15, 2004, starting about 6:30 pm, at the Artesia DES Hall, 11903 Ashworth, Artesia, CA 90701-4112. . Our last meeting was the Official Visit for the Supreme President of the IDES, on April 30th. Let us know if you have to work or if you want a reminder call. Call me when you get this meeting notice and I will call you back the day before to remind you about the meeting. Notice: Council 170 Artesia will be discussing what can be done for Council 152 Redlands. Various ideas will be presented at the meeting. Council 170, Artesia Cordially invites Council 152 members and interested parties to attend our Next regular meeting on June 15th, 2004, at 6:30 pm at Artesia D.E.S. Hall, located at 11903 Ashworth, Artesia, CA 90701-4112. 6:30 pm - Social, 7:00 pm - meeting starts. Directions From the North: South on 5 Freeway, to South 605 Freeway, to East 91 Freeway, to South on Pioneer Blvd in Artesia, to Ashworth (turn left). From the East and South: North on 5 Freeway, to West 91 Freeway, to South on Pioneer Blvd in Artesia, to Ashworth (turn left). IDES Council 152 members will be receiving Council 170 meeting notices, now and in the future, so that they can attend an IDES Council meeting, if they so chose. Those Council 152 members that attend a majority of the Council 170 meetings held, "should" be eligible to attend the IDES Convention in 2005. We will need to negotiate with the Supreme Council on some of the details for Convention attendance for Council 152 members. What I have heard from our IDES District 10 Governor, Joe Bautista, is that the Officers for Council 152 have resigned. This information was also printed in the April 2004 IDES Supreme Council Bulletin. The bulletin further indicates that Council #152 is now Inactive. There are a number of future possible courses of action for members of Council 152. 1. Michael Abreu, Secretary of IDES Council 170, Artesia, provides assistance to members of IDES Council 152 until such time, that other arrangements can be made. No further action by IDES Council 152 members. Council 152 remains inactive. 2. Council 152 members, meet, nominate, and elect new officers for IDES Council 152. This would be done with the guidance of the IDES Supreme Council, and IDES District Governor. Council 152 is reactivated, and is on its own again. 3. Council 170 and Council 152, with approval of each councils membership, will reform into a new combined council. Three (3) meetings would be held in the Artesia area, and 3 meetings would be held in the Redlands area. Those members wishing to attend the IDES Convention would need to attend some meeting in both areas. While this is a complicated plan, it is another possibility. To implement this plan, would require a great deal of cooperation, and planning by members of both councils, and guidance from the IDES Supreme Council. Councils 170 and 152 would both become inactive, and a new joint council would be activated. 4, Some other proposal, put forth by the membership of both councils. Any IDES Council 152 members that need information, or other assistance with their Insurance or other matters, can contact me, Michael Abreu, at the Festa Espirto Santo in Mentone on the 5th an 6th of June. I will be helping at the ticket and donation booth from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. After 4:00 pm I should be able to provide some information or make appointments to provide further assistance. I have a full beard and grey hair.
