The Change Agent - a semi-annual newspaper bringing social justice issues to adult education Workplays - a video and accompanying workbook, takes a problem-posing approach to workplace rights and is suitable for intermediate level ESOLor beginning level ABE students. The video contains five units: safetyand health, workers’ compensation, discrimination (including sexualharassment) belonging to a union, and other rights. Each unit presents very short scenarios (2-3 minutes) in the manner of a “soap opera,” and a fact sheet presentation. The scenarios are designed as problem posingskits for students to discuss. The accompanying workbook includes allscripts for the scenarios as well as language development activities andfact sheets. Teachers can easily select some of the scenarios that are mostappropriate to their students; it is not necessary to use the complete 50 minutes. Labor Education Center, UMass Dartmouth.

The module also includes a readiness guide for programs to complete before starting a Workplace ESL program.
