TED LANE grew up in West Bend, Wisconsin, and started playing guitar at the age of 13. Before he was out of high school, he had traveled extensively throughout the Midwest with a variety band. In 1983, he joined the Navy as a musician and was assigned to Navy Band Charleston. There he expanded his repertoire by learning to play many styles of music including jazz, country, pop, rock, and the occasional march. Whenever the band played for military ceremonies or parades, Ted was the one who got to carry & play the bass drum! After Ted got out of the Navy, he became the guitarist in a jazz quartet aboard the Spirit of Charleston dinner cruise boat.

VERONICA LANE is a multi-instrumentalist who also enjoys arranging and conducting. She grew up in Central Florida and started playing piano and organ at age 6 and flute at age 8. After that, she picked up the accordion, saxophone, guitar, bass and any other instrument she could get her hands on.  She began transcribing songs and arranging them for her school jazz and concert bands when she was 13.  At 15, Veronica formed a guitar/vocal folk duo & played for school & civic functions. She attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and studied arranging and film scoring. She joined the Navy in 1985 and was able to utilize her performing, arranging and conducting skills while stationed at Navy Band Charleston.

TED & VERONICA started playing & singing together in the Navy band. They decided to keep a good thing going after they left the military. In 1990, they formed the jazz/variety trio, Seabreeze, and took over the house band job aboard the Spirit of Charleston. In addition to the live guitar, bass and drums, Veronica recorded MIDI keyboard parts which gave the trio a very full sound. The group also had computer-controlled lights which provided extra excitement. In 1991, the band moved to Florida and played six nights a week on cruise ships sailing from Miami. Working on the ships meant having a new group of passengers every week who requested anything from the cha-cha to Led Zeppelin!
