Wat Prathat Doi Suthep

Temple

Wat Prathat Doi Suthep was built by King Kuna in 1388. It is perched high on the flank of the Suthep Mountain, 3,000 feet above sea level, and is ChiangMai's most famous temple. The pagoda in the center is believed to contain some of the relics of Buddha.

Thailand is famous around the world for silk cloth. Hand woven on looms, the texture is fairly coarse and not at all what most westerners expect.
