Civil War Tribute by Robert A. Downs

Robert A. Downs of Trenton, New Jersey has kindly donated a nice framed print of the following writing. The image shows the below text with a CS flag on the left and the US flag on the right. A man's face is in the background. The print will be raffled at the Port Hudson event to raise funds for flag restoration.

100 years from now,
be it blue or gray,
Will they remember us?
This war, the battles,
fields drenched with
blood of men
from the blue and the gray
Nay to our struggle,

Selma, Alabama - 24, 25 April 1999 13th Annual reenactment of the Battle of Selma.

Mansfield, Louisiana - 1, 2 May 1999 135th Anniversary of the Battle of Mansfield.

Donaldsonville, Louisiana - 26, 27 June 1999 Fort Butler Reenactment. Other events will include an historical parade in Donaldsonville and the dedication of a monument to General Tom Green and the Texas troops that fought at Fort Butler in 1863. A memorial service will also be held.
