HOW BRONZES ARE MADE VIA THE LOST WAX PROCESS

(simplified explanation)

1. Creation of the Sculpture in clay.

2. A mold is made in silicon rubber.

3. A wax casting is made from the mold.

4. The wax casting is encased in a ceramic shell.

5. The wax is melted out, leaving a hollow shell.

6. Molten bronze is poured in.

7. Ceramic shell is chipped away.

8. Bronze is finished, acid patinas added, and mounted.
