After the sculpture process in clay was completed, a silicone mold was made. I then created a skin tone that would most likely reflect her heritage, and added it as the underlying color to a material called Elvax. I made a casting, inserted glass eyes, and cleaned up the seams. The painting was minimal--some oil washes followed by airbrushing. Polyfiber hair was punched in, combed back in the hairstyle reflecting the era, and a cap placed upon her head.
The process in now complete. A piece of history--Albany in the early 1700's--has now been given a face.
If you would like any more information about the process, please contact me and I will be happy to answer your questions.
