Thedra is a prominent Texas artist who could also be called a minimalist, a voodoo doctor or a natural historian. Her intriguing sculptures gain their expressiveness by organizing and displaying large quantities of everyday things. Her method is not handling or mark-making, rather it is arranging and presenting bits of data.

She received her Master's degree in Fine Art from the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art at Oxford University and her Bachelor's of Fine Art in painting from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland.

Thedra lives in Houston but spent the last three years in New York. She is married to a graphic designer, has two sons, and teaches at the Art Institute. She is represented by McClain Gallery in Houston and Thomas Werner Gallery in New York.
