"Enough for What?"

The main question here is:  What exactly is Frodo's reaction to Sam's statement that he's rationing the lembas so there will be enough for the trip home?  Specifically, that is, Frodo's reaction to realizing Sam expects there to be a trip home.  That reaction is in the last two caps on the page.  I've "pencilled in" some dialogue, but it's not complete or correct.

I don't have screencaps yet for the second half of the puzzle--what Frodo is really doing when he mentions later in the movie that they won't have enough water for the journey home.  That is, is he testing Sam out to see if he's come to understand the situation?  Or is something else going on?

Sam tells Frodo to have something to eat.

"What about you?"

"I'm not really hungry."

"Well, not for lembas bread, anyway."

"Sam..."

85-pdvd_292.jpg

"All right, we don't have all that much left."

"But you go ahead and eat that. I've rationed it."

"There should be enough."

I think Frodo does look honestly puzzled here--or maybe even a bit concerned.

"For what?"

85-pdvd_306.jpg

"The journey home."
