Instructions For Joining the WebRing

1) If you have a site that is related to the Native American flute, please consider applying to this WebRing by filling out the form below.

Note: In filling out the form, please ensure you choose a password as requested. It will be necessary should you change URLs, your email address, etc. To do so, just click on "Edit/Update Your Site Information" above and follow the directions at the WebRing Ring Management page for editing your site.

2) When you click on the 'Submit Site' button above, you should be taken to a window that has a title 'WebRing:mbr_AddSiteSuccess'. It will say 'Addition to the Queue' at the top of the page, and will list your site information. Write down your Site ID # and Password. At this point, your site has only been placed in a queue awaiting approval to formally join the ring.

3) An automatically generated email will be sent to you giving you the basic HTML code that will need to be inserted on your home page. It will also include your site id# and name. You use your site id# and password so you can edit your site information, if you wish.

An alternate method would be to copy the generic sample of the HTML fragment code given below and paste into your page, then inserting your id# , email address and name or title:

where it says [ your e-mail address ] replace with your e-mail address.

where it says [ Your name or title ] replace with your name or title.

where it says [ your id# ] replace with your number (6 instances).

4) Download, or copy, the graphic below  (eswebring.gif ) and put it in the same directory as the code. Ensure the code is changed to read img src="eswebring.gif"


5) When you have done this, you should have something that resembles what is shown below.   Modify the code, if you wish, to suit your style.

6) Send me an email to alert me that the above steps have done, and that you are ready to have me add you to the ring. I will go to your site and check that everything is set up correctly. If all looks well, I will then add you to the webring.

7) When your site has been approved and formally added to the ring, you will receive another automatically generated email telling you your site has been added.

Note: You do not need to send me a copy of your HTML code. When you submit the above information, I will have a link to your webpage, and can view the HTML code directly with Netscape choosing 'View', then 'Page Source'.
