was founded in January, 1994, by Sarah D. Meredith, after several years of independent research in well over a hundred Manhattan and Brooklyn schools. She has compiled an original database and become familiar with processes within a majority of the independent schools, as well as in the Community School Districts in these boroughs. Using her 20 years of previous experience in education, philanthropy, publishing and economic development, Ms. Meredith started Schools & You to help parents understand and gain access to school choice by clarifying what differences a choice might make, where to get more information about schools, how to tackle the process and how to make choices that work for the whole family.

Schools & You evaluations of school programs are an ongoing process. As part of this innovative business, Ms. Meredith is continuously amassing her unique first-hand data to reflect the constantly changing school programs in the area. She has previously consulted on administrative, special project and special event tasks with several New York City metropolitan area independent schools. She was a contributing editor to an innovative Japanese-English bilingual journal, ShiSo Magazine (now part of J-Wave), concerned with intercultural parenting issues. Her work is published regularly in Big Apple Parents' , as well as in other area parenting papers such asNew York Family Magazine, andThe Brooklyn Parent.
