Colorado butterfly collection from 1974 (I have a fairly
well-preserved
mountain butterfly collection which I have photographed and documented
here.)
- A few
European butterflies. Living in Germany in 1992 - 1993 and on
shorter business trips to Europe, I have frequently watched the
European butterflies and identified some of the common and conspicuous
ones such as the Small Tortoiseshell and Peacock Butterfly. On a
recent trip to CERN, with a copy of Butterflies of Europe (by Tom
Tolman and Richard Lewington) and a camera, I made a more serious
attempt to identify some of the common landscape butterflies in the
area around CERN. This page summarizes that start at learning
more of the European butterflies.
