The Response to Motion for Summary Judgment is a legal document. It gives part of the history of the MEST program and how
it functioned.
Pages 34 to 47 give details of Dr. Schilcher's non-reappointment and its rationale as documented by court depositions.
Scores for teaching, research, and service are discussed on pages 35 to 36. Dr. Schilcher's scores during the three years
were in the "average to above average" range, and all but one was in the upper (or above average) half of this range (see
p. 35).
"Dr. Schilcher's scores [for teaching, service, and research] were higher than those of history faculty that were reappointed
the same year that she was non-reappointed" (p. 36).
