My Watercolors - Sally Bostley
A new year; a clean page; some new paintings

We won't be traveling as much this year because we are moving to a new house (when it's built) so I'll revisit some favorite places from the past via the fine art of photography.

Château Carrouges in Normandy, France
chteaucarrouges.jpg
The inner courtyard of the lovely chateau with a moat.

We visited Château Carrouges during a month-long stay in Normandy. The château tour started from this charming courtyard and we were told it was only offered in French. When a large group from Ireland showed up as the only others in our group, we got an English-speaking tour!

The château has a full moat with the requisite ducks and even a boat in it. The gate house nearby is even more impressive than the château.

The Borders of Scotland

A church near Dumfries that we passed many times without discovering the name of the town.

Annisquam Light at Gloucester, Massachusetts

The quintessential lighthouse

Also known as Squam or Wigwam Light, this lovely lighthouse lies at the entrance to the Annisquam River in Gloucester, not too far from Marblehead, Massachusetts.

This is the desert, honest!

Mountain pines at sunrise.

Sunrise is the softest light. Can winter look warm?

I was in pine tree mode one day. Here are two favorites.

This definitely looks cold . . . as it should!

It's only as cold as it feels.
