At the Fox and Hound
After the game, we met at the Fox and Hound English pub on
Westheimer. Guest of honor, Janie Blitch was there to visit with us and celebrate her retirement.
In all, 20 of our classmates plus family members were there making it the
largest gathering we've had recently outside of the reunions. It was a "mini-reunion" of sorts. And to prove that we aren't
TOO old yet, we closed out the place at 2:00 am leaving even after most of the twenty/thirty something crowd and wait
staff.
Attendees: Andy Bradley, Marilyn Abel Taylor, Randy Melton, Jim Joswiak, Tommy
Cook, Karen Haenelt Cook, WayneJasek, Darrel Dussetschleger, Tim Womac, Brad Hays, Debra Bratton, Diana Burton Allen,
Debbie Cabness Franek, Dee Potchernick Garner, Pat Carver Phenix, Doug Phenix, Randy Cernosek, Mark Ford, Averyl Re, Bill
Ellington
And... for those of you who left before 1:00, you missed some fine, free entertainment.
While we were sitting at the table nearest the front door, three Houston police officers rushed into the building and
headed straight into the pool room on the left immediately pouncing on this guy. They forced him to the ground and handcuffed
him. They also handcuffed another guy who's face had been cut down one side and was bleeding quite a bit. They hauled
both guys out and were greeted by WAY too many bored cops and a paramedic unit. For almost a full hour, there were all these
police just hanging around the pub outside. I talked to one policeman and he said that a boss and his employee were having
a social night out at the pub and for whatever reason, the employee attacked the boss causing the cut. I'm guessing the employee
is no longer an employee after that episode. Anyway, it capped of an already eventful evening!
