Examples of Tables within Tables

This is a table that could be done without borders. Background of this table is silver.

Background has an image.

Tables within tables give flexibility to locate images and
text where you want them. One way to make the text
conform to the table width, is to use Shift-Enter to
get a new line. The other way is to go to Cell or Table Properties and specify the minimum width. I found this very tricky for tables within tables. These last lines have no Shift-Enter (or width minimums). Try moving your browser edges back and forth, and watch the table change shape.

Three single-cell tables forming a border, one inside the other.

You must color the borders of the outer tables before you insert the inner tables. Notice how the border color changes the coloration of the planet.
