12/25/1800 Book Q p 493.  Christopher Christophers to Sussanah Davis, 6 acres for 25 pounds, land ajoins Col. Theophilus Hunter – witness John Terry

 

 

In 1804 there was a warrant for John Terry, his wife Priscilla, and his son Stephen, to appear in Hillsborough Superior Court to testify against Issac Lane. 

 

In May 1806, a deed from Abraham Bledsoe and John Terry was duly proven by oath of James Huckabee. 

 

In August 1807, Stephen Terry and wife Mary, filed suits against Rebecka Thompson, Henry Dean, and Mary Haley over some holding of slaves.

May 1811        page 413          Hannah Mobley, widow vs. Rep of Jesse Mobley, dec’d.  Petition for dower.  Ordered Jesse Mobley be appointed guardian to Caswell, Washington, Berry, and Nancy Mobley:infant – heirs to Jesse Mobley estate.[– John Terry marries Hannah Mobley]

 

                        Page 352          John Terry vs Jacob Byum & others      Find no payment or settlement, assess plaintiff damages to 37 pounds, 20 sh + costs.  Further find executor of Moses Hicks, one of the defendants, has assets sufficient to satisfy plantiff’s demand.

 

                        Page 418          John Nutt, Merritt Dillard, William Terry be patrollers in St. Luke’s District

 

August 1811     Page 426          “It appears to the court on the evidence of Jeptha Terrell that the left ear of John Terry was bitten off in an affray with Solomon Jones.  Ordered that the fact be recorded and certificate thereof be grated to the said John Terry”

 

August 1811     Page 431          Johnson Britt adm of Bennitt Boddie dec’d vs. John Terry.  The same jury as in No. 2 [???] find for the defendant.

 

12/23/1881 Magistrate’s Summons  W H Terry and Mary Terry against David a Ray, administrator of the estate of William Perry, deceased for the sum of $420.
