The CONTRAPTION
..is dead :(

I bet by now, all of you are wondering what the heck the contraption is, and what it does..
Well.. Everyone knows what noise these bikes can generate. In a fit of boredom, we created an after-muffler, using the exhaust I had lying around from my shelved race pipe, and some copper pipe fittings and tubing.
The result? The bike is about as loud as a street sport bike. You can cruise without worry about people chasing you with sawzalls and pliers, screaming to shut the damn thing off!
You do lose a bit of power, and the bike BARELY goes on the pipe, but hey, it's removable in 10 seconds! I only lost about 2-3mph in top speed, and a little bit of acceleration. This thing seems to quiet the 50cc bike more than the 40cc though, for some weird reason, and adversely affects the power of the 40cc more.. go figure. We might mess with pipe lengths to see if we can 'tune' it to work better with the 40cc too.

See- pretty simple really. We just propane-torch-soldered the joints, and used heater hose for connections.. and the hose DIDN'T MELT. Heck, we soldered the joints with the hose ON and it didn't melt!
note the extra wrap-ties so the mufflers don't scrape on each other.
Yes. I am the king. The king of mickey-mouse!
UPDATE:
The frigging pipe cracked. Yup. The standard pipe is dead- long live the race pipe!
I had the std. pipe re-welded and it cracked again (without the conttraption). I think the std. pipes are prone to breakage as the metal is so thin towards the rear. Thus spelling ht eend of the contraption project. I will probably try to put a YSR muffler on my DM later on, so look for the CONTRAPTION, part II!
