Part I.

(1) Vishnu - Old-Style Siamese, seal point neutered male, 7years old. Sire: Chiangmai Piab of Sarsenstone (import from Thailand). Dam: Sarsenstone Voxara (old American lineage). Vishnu is a wonderfully affectionate boy with people.

Vishnu went to a good home as a young kitten, along with his sister, Bastet. For about 5 years, Vishnu and Bastet lived happily together. Unfortunately, during a period when his owner was moving/remodeling (which causes stress), Vishnu saw an alien cat wandering around outside the window of his home. He got quite upset. His sister Bastet was standing near him and became the object of transferred aggression. The simplest way to explain transferred aggression is this. In his highly excited state, Vishnu forgot the alien cat and thought Bastet was the cause of his fear. She became his enemy. It happens with cats sometimes.

Vishnu's owner tried for a couple of years to de-program the cats and train them to get along and like each other again. It almost worked, but they had a setback. The owner was not able to get them to tolerate each other any more, and from that point things have deteriorated steadily. With regret, she has asked me to help Vishnu find a new home. At age 7, he's the human equivalent of about 40 years old, still in excellent condition, vigorous, healthy, and likely to live at least another 8 years. Siamese tend to be long-lived cats, and Vishnu comes from an extraordinary 100 year outcross between a Siamese native to Thailand and an old American Siamese. He should be exceptionally vigorous for most of a long life.

Because of Vishnu's bad experiences, he must remain an only cat for the rest of his life. But with people, he's affectionate, funny, and a lot of fun. He would make an outstanding companion for someone who wants just one close companion. Vishnu's owner will charge only an adoption fee of about $100.00. The purpose of an adoption fee is to ensure that people don't adopt a cat on impulse, that they think about it carefully. It also helps to ensure that the new owner will be able to afford basic good care--decent food, annual veterinary exam, routine dental care, and so on.

Part II.

(1) Mersenne - Old-Style Siamese. Blue point spayed female, 4 years old. Mersenne likes people, but is not crazy about other cats. The only cat she loves is her daughter, Phantine. Ideally we would like to see Mersenne go to a new home with her daughter, but we will consider placing Mersenne by herself. Mersenne blooms when she gets a lot of individual attention from her people. She's a handsome cat, larger than average for a female, with nice depth of eye color. She is highly intelligent and communicative. However, she only has something to say once she gets to know you and is sure you want to talk with her. Then, she'll tell you about her day, the neat bird she saw out the window, and lots of other things.

(2) Phantine -- Old-Style Siamese. Blue point spayed female, 1 year old. Phantine is short for "Diophantine." She's the daughter of Mersenne (see above) and Chiangmai Piab of Sarsenstone. That means Phantine is from an old American lineage of Old-Style Siamese cats on her mother's side, and her father is from Thailand. She was the product of a fantastic outcross, which should mean a long and healthy lifespan. So far she has fulfilled that promise. Phantine was a show cat for many months. She was shown as a Thai in TICA, where she charmed the judges with her happy, outgoing personality. To our surprise, however, Phantine inherited all the "small" genes from her parents. Her mother is quite a large female, and her father is average for a male, but Phantine is a diminutive young lady. Since we prefer to breed for somewhat larger cats, and also must keep our cattery numbers to a minimum, we realized it would be better to place Phantine in a home with good, meezer-loving people. Ideally, we would like to see her go to a home with her mother, Mersenne, but we will consider other options. Phantine usually gets along with other cats and hasn't yet met a human she didn't like.

We will soon have a few other adult cats to place. More information on those cats will follow as they become available.
