air

i don't want to know you
i don't really care
i just want to show you
the cupboards in your head are bare

i don't want to own you
life's a strolling fair
but your world will disown you
if you're not really there

are you really 'hind your eyes
or is it only a disguise
       to fool the world
       i think it might be

so then don't be too surprised
       when you begin to realise
       you've fooled the world
       don't take it lightly

there are monkeys surf the net
and yet inside your head it's dead
i can't believe your ignorance
and all the inane things you've said.....
there's nothing in your head!!

i did want to know you
i so nearly cared
but i found out too slowly
what's there is merely air

i don't want to know you......
i don't really care
i just want to show you
the cupboards in your head are bare
there's nothing in your head up there
there's nothing up in there, but air
