Title: Hamburger Pie - Mildred Sanner

      Yield: 10 Servings

 

-------------------------PIE DOUGH------------------------------

    1/2 c  Pillsbury Mashed Pot. Flakes

      2 T  Melted Butter

      2 c  Pillsbury's Best Reg. Flour

      1 T  Sugar

      1 ts Cream of Tatar

      1 ts Soda

    1/3 c  Butter

    1/2 c  Milk

    1/4 c  Mayonnaise

    1/2 c  Shredded cheese

 

---------------------HAMBURGER FILLING--------------------------

      1 lb Ground beef

      2 T  Instant minced onion

      1 ts Salt

    1/4 ts Pepper

    3/4 c  Pillsbury Mashed Pot. Flakes

      1    Egg

    1/4 c  Catsup

    1/4 c  Hamburger relish

      1 T  Salad mustard

 

  Pie Dough

 

  Oven 375

  Combine 1/4 cup potato flakes with melted butter; set aside. In large

  mixing bowl, combine 1/4 cup potato flakes, flour, sugar, cream of

  tartar and soda. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  Add milk and mayonnaise; blend until a soft dough forms. Divide in

  half; shape into balls. Roll out one ball on floured surface to a

  9-inch circle. Place on greased cookie sheet. Spread filling to

  within 1/2 inch of edges; sprinkle with cheese. Roll out remaining

  dough; place on filling, sealing edges. Brush with milk; sprinkle

  with buttered potato flakes. Bake at 375 for 20 to 25 minutes or

  until golden brown.

 

  Hamburger Filling

 

  In large skillet, sauté ground beef, onion, salt and pepper until

  browned. Add remaining ingredients; blend well.

  Tip: Burger may be made ahead of time. Cover; place in refrigerator

  several hours or overnight. Bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes.

  Variation: Omit ground beef, salt, catsup, hamburger relish and salad

  mustard. Add 3 (7 ounce) cans tuna, drained and flaked, 10 1/2-ounce

  can cream of celery soup and 1 tablespoon lemon juice to remaining

  ingredients.
